Motorcycles and Convertibles

As you may already know, the Großglockner High Alpine Road is considered one of the most beautiful panoramic roads in the Alps. That is undoubtedly true – but away from the well-known routes, special experiences await true driving enthusiasts.

Explore nearly untouched nature, passing traditional farms and impressive landscapes. The region around Heiligenblut offers exactly that – complemented by numerous winding roads that will make every driving enthusiast’s heart beat faster.

 Whether by motorcycle or convertible: you are always very welcome here. Of course, a secure underground garage is also available for your vehicles.

Bicycle and e-bike

The region is not only a paradise for trekking cyclists, but also for mountain bikers who can challenge their skills and endurance on designated trails and in alpine terrain.

 

If you prefer not to bring your own bike, rental bicycles and e-bikes are available in Heiligenblut. Cyclists staying at our hotel can also take advantage of a secure bike storage room and dedicated bike washing facilities.

Hiking

Experience the unique natural beauty of the Hohe Tauern National Park around Heiligenblut on a variety of hiking trails suitable for all levels of ability. Situated at the foot of the Großglockner, the area offers impressive routes ranging from leisurely valley walks to challenging alpine mountain hikes.

Rafting, canyoning

Whether in the Möll Valley or East Tyrol, rafting on the Drau River and a variety of outdoor adventures offer the perfect combination of excitement and relaxation.

In cooperation with our partner Club Activ Mölltal, you can enjoy guided rafting tours for families as well as sport and fun rafting experiences at different difficulty levels.

 

Canyoning is another unforgettable adventure: jumps into crystal-clear pools, slides through narrow rock channels, and descents down waterfalls make every tour a truly unique experience.

Via Ferrata in the mystic Möll canyon

The Möllschlucht climbing ferrata is a huge canyon at the foot of the Grossglockner! This trail runs along 420 m of steel cable through the Möll canyon just before Heiligenblut.

The system is characterized mainly by climbing the gorge for extremely long cable-stayed bridges. The beautiful combination of turquoise pools, small waterfalls and steep wall sections are the attractions of this ferrata. Directly from the exit, the view of the church of Heiligenblut - with the famous mountaineer cemetery and with a little luck you can even see the top of the Grossglockner.

Climbing park

Put your agility and coordination skills to the test at the high ropes course in Heiligenblut and experience the thrill of adventure high above the ground. Located next to the Landgasthof Sonnblick, the course features a variety of treetop obstacles, rope bridges, and a Flying Fox that provide plenty of excitement and fun.

The experience is complemented by a climbing wall and the nearby Möll Gorge Via Ferrata, making it the perfect alpine outdoor adventure. Ideal for families, beginners, and adventure seekers alike, the high ropes course offers fun, exercise, and challenges for all ages.

Pilgrimage

Heiligenblut is one of Carinthia’s most important pilgrimage destinations and boasts a long and fascinating history. At its heart stands the late Gothic Parish and Pilgrimage Church of St. Vincent, with its distinctive tower set against the breathtaking backdrop of the Großglockner.

According to legend, the church houses a precious relic of Saint Briccius, which has attracted pilgrims from around the world for centuries. Its unique location and spiritual atmosphere create a remarkable blend of faith, history, and alpine nature, making Heiligenblut a truly special place to visit.

Experiences

Around Heiligenblut, you will find a variety of unique attractions that combine nature, history, and local traditions. At the Gold Panning Village in the Fleiß Valley, you can immerse yourself in the fascinating world of gold mining and even try your hand at panning for gold.

At the Sturm Arche Farm, you can experience authentic rural life and discover rare traditional livestock breeds as well as the region’s mountain farming culture. Another highlight is the historic Stock Mills of Apriach, which offer an impressive insight into how water power was used in the past.

Grossglockner mountain run

The Grossglockner Mountain Run, one of Europe’s most famous mountain races, takes place every year in mid-July. This is a real challenge for the runners and mountain lovers.

We await the guests and participants again with an exhibiton about the topic Running and with diverse programs!

The selective route leads through one of the most spectacular unspoilt landscapes on the globe. The route is a 12.670 m uphill trail course which includes about 1404m of climbing.
