Ski Slopes
Winter in Heiligenblut is pure high life – in every sense of the word!
Here you’ll find dreamlike slopes high above the tree line, where skiing remains carefree and unhurried right into spring.
And even beyond the slopes, Heiligenblut offers plenty of winter magic: tobogganing, ice-skating, ice climbing on frozen waterfalls, horse-drawn sleigh rides, ski tours, freeriding and scenic winter hiking trails.
Ski Resort Grossglockner–Heiligenblut
Nestled in the romantic winter sports region of Grossglockner/Heiligenblut (at 1,301 m above sea level) and surrounded by the Hohe Tauern National Park, the resort features 14 lifts that carry you up to an altitude of 2,912 m.
Thanks to its exceptional location, snow reliability is virtually guaranteed all season long.
With almost 60 km of slopes, perfect for carving or snowboarding, this area offers the ideal foundation for an unforgettable winter holiday.

Skiing on the Grossglockner – “Top of Austria”
Skiing beneath Austria’s highest mountain – the Grossglockner – means wide-open slopes, deep snow and a breathtaking alpine panorama.
Here you’ll experience the magic of the high mountains, unspoiled nature and the warmth of traditional Carinthian hospitality, combined with countless year-round leisure opportunities.
Short waiting times, exceptional snow reliability (thanks to altitudes between 1,301 m and 2,989 m) and a variety of runs for all ability levels make every winter sports enthusiast’s heart beat faster – whether you’re a carver, snowboarder or freerider.
The resort’s Freeride Arena spans about 15 km² of high-alpine terrain, offering endless variations and descents with up to 1,500 m of vertical drop – a true paradise for off-piste lovers.
At the Freeride Checkpoint (mid-station), visitors can check real-time avalanche conditions, see which routes are open or closed, perform an LVS (avalanche beacon) check, and view up-to-date weather, wind and temperature data.
Families & Mountain Huts
Families are warmly welcomed in Heiligenblut – the Snowland area offers endless fun for kids and beginners alike.
Another highlight of the ski area is the abundance of authentic, rustic alpine huts, serving traditional Carinthian dishes on sunny panoramic terraces – the perfect place to rest and enjoy the view.
Beyond the slopes, there’s no shortage of snow adventures: 12 km of groomed cross-country trails, tobogganing and ice-skating, snowshoeing, ski touring and ice climbing all promise unforgettable winter memories.
